Announcement was made vide Advertisement No : NPCIL/HRM/ET/2018/03 dated 05.09.2018 declaring intent of NPCIL to induct Executive Trainees in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and Civil disciplines by short listing candidates based on GATE Scores.

NPCIL proposes to recruit Executive Trainees in following disciplines. Candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interview on the basis of valid score obtained in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017/2018/2019.

Education Qualition :

i. BE/B Tech/B Sc (Engineering)/5 year Integrated M Tech with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in one of the 6 engineering disciplines mentioned in the Table below from a recognized University/Deemed University or 
Institute recognized by AICTE/UGC. Applicants must have a valid GATE2017 or GATE-2018 or GATE-2019 Score in the same engineering discipline as the qualifying degree discipline. A minimum of 60% marks means the marks as per the ordinances of the respective university.

ii. Candidates who have done 5 years integrated course leading to ME/M.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks in the relevant discipline may also apply subject to fulfilling other laid down criteria.
iii. Only the above mentioned disciplines will be considered. Courses/Disciplines with equivalence to the above will not be considered.
iv. Applicants must have a valid GATE 2017/GATE 2018/GATE 2019 scores in the same engineering discipline as the qualifying degree discipline.
v. Applicants whose final results are awaited and/or are appearing for the final year/semester examination during 2019, but are otherwise eligible, may also apply. If selected, they will be required to submit the final result indicating completion of degree and percentage of marks (not less than 60%) on or before 30th November, 2019.

Stipend - During Training

  • Monthly Stipend – ` 35,000/-

a) After successful completion of training, Executive Trainee will be appointed as Scientific Officer/C in Group ‘A’ as detailed below :

Fee :

  • A Non Refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- is chargeable only to Male applicants belonging to General, EWS and OBC categories.
  • Women candidates, candidates belonging to SC/ST  category,  PwBDs,  Dependents  of Defence Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA) and  employees  of  NPCIL   are exempted  from payment of application fee.

How to Apply :

a. Registration number provided on the Admit Card for GATE 2017/GATE 2018/GATE 2019, as the case may be, issued by GATE Authorities has to be used for applying in NPCIL. Candidates need to ensure that they fill up
the GATE Registration Number correctly and apply for the relevant discipline in NPCIL Online Application Form. Requests for correction in GATE Registration number or Discipline will not be entertained.
b. Candidates must get themselves registered on Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) of IIT while applying in NPCIL.
c. Eligible applicants may apply through online registration system of NPCIL. 
Applications submitted in any other form including handwritten/typewritten applications in hard format delivered in person or by other means will not be entertained. DO NOT SEND any of the documents/ application form etc to NPCIL before interview. 

Selection Procedure :

The selection process will comprise of the following:
i. Shortlisting of candidates for personal interview for the posts of Executive Trainee 2019 will be done by applying ratio of 1:12 and in the order of merit drawn on the basis of valid GATE 2017, GATE 2018 and GATE 2019 
Scores.
ii. Candidates obtaining valid GATE 2017/GATE 2018/GATE 2019 scores shall only be eligible. The score is valid only if the candidate obtains more than or equal to the qualifying marks as fixed for the respective discipline in GATE 2017/GATE 2018/GATE 2019. Please note that only GATE 2017/GATE 2018/GATE 2019 score is valid for this recruitment exercise in NPCIL under this advertisement. GATE score of 2016 or of previous GATE examination shall not be entertained. 
iii. Equal weightage will be given to GATE 2017 or GATE 2018 or GATE 2019 Scores.
iv. ‘Persons with Benchmark Disabilities’ (PwBDs), will be shortlisted for interview by applying the least cut off amongst all reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS). Thus, PwBDs having GATE score equal to least of the cut offs may get shortlisted for interview irrespective of their category (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS). Number of PwBDs shortlisted with this method  shall be over and above the number of candidates shortlisted by applying 1:12 ratio.
v. Discipline and category wise cut off shall be displayed on recruitment web portal of NPCIL. Result of shortlisting for interview shall be made available to candidates under ‘Application Status’ link through individual login on www.npcilcareers.co.in.
vi. Intimation on interview timing/venue shall be communicated to shortlisted candidates through Email/SMS. Call letter for appearing for interview will be made available for shortlisted candidates in the website for downloading. 
vii. Candidates will be shortlisted for interview as detailed above. Final selection will be done solely on the basis of performance in the Personal Interview. No weightage will be given to GATE Score during the final selection. The qualifying marks for interview are as follows :  

  • Unreserved – 70 %
  • SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD – 60 %

viii. Final merit list will be prepared based on marks secured in the interview and will be limited to number of vacancies notified.
ix. In case of candidates with equal interview marks, credit will be given for the GATE 2017/GATE 2018/GATE 2019 Score. Wherever both interview marks as well as GATE Scores are equal, credit will be given to seniority in
date of birth. Therefore, candidates scoring marks equal to cut off marks for interview, may not get selected owing to other candidates scoring same interview marks getting empanelled/waitlisted due to higher GATE 2017 or GATE 2018 or GATE 2019 score, as the case may be or seniority in date of birth.
x. Result of the interview shall be made available to the candidates through individual login on recruitment website of NPCIL www.npcilcareers.co.in. Text of the Offer of appointment will also be made available for downloading to the empanelled candidates on this website under individual login.
xi. On receipt of offer, empanelled candidates will be required to exercise their option regarding whether they want to join NPCIL or not on Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) developed by IIT, Madras. 
Candidates opting out of joining NPCIL or not exercising any option on COAP will be deemed to be not interested in joining NPCIL and offer will be issued to the waitlisted candidates in the order of merit. As the empanelment is depending upon option exercised on COAP portal, candidates must ensure that they are registered on COAP portal to be able to exercise the option.
